My new role as AllDenY manager is something i realy appreciate. But at the same time i have to lead projects (technically). For Excell Associate (an accountant company) web site, we decide to use Ruby on Rails framework. athough i’m not an expert in this technology, Madjo (our ruby expert) convincted me with a nice presentation. Going to learn much about RoR, I promise. This decision taken, we have to propose a little course to the all team. why sould us take 1 month with J2EE Framework for a project while we can make it in less than 2 weeks with RoR. Basically we all are J2EE adictive, but i think we sould take time to learn about this framework.

We just start our partnership campaign. As the first portal will be dedicated to Ivory Coast, yesterday, Isaac contacted some newspapers in Abidjan (Ivory Coast’s Capital city). The first impression is like some of them had bad experiences with online partnership. So they are skeptical. The will have to explain them the power of Web 2.0 possibilities.

This week i met Zakaria who is now joining us. he will be in charge of finding ways to get users. So this Saturday, i’m going to introduce him to the team at Myriam appartment.

Yeah ! back with meeting à Myriam home. Kuffi who just come from london will also be there. He found a designer so he want to introduce him to. Wow were are going to release a new user interface. wait and see.

In conclusion we are now 11 members in the team. 7 of us are engineers or GUI-designers. the four others are in charge of commercial partnership, strategy, product. We think that the team must stay small (less than 15). in the next month we will maybe need strong interface developper and maybe another software engineer.

It has been about one month without any post. The main reason is that we have been very busy with our work (most of us work for an employer). And during this period new things happens. I’ v been at a entrepreneurship training organised by “La chambre de commerce du Val de Marne” (http://www.ccip94.ccip.fr/index.asp?idprofil=5&idlangue=5&idmetapage=457). I learned a lot at this training. For example now i know what all those lines on my pay slip stand for.

From now were are going to plan the whole development of the back-end, as its design is finish. At the same time we are going to design the Front-end.

Today I went to the SparkCamp paris. This is an excelent initiative. I learned a lot from others entrepreneurs and this “elevator pitch” (i’ll talk about it later on). I’m very tired tonight and tomorrow i have to go again.

Yesterday i went to a conference about “visibility online via blogs” organised by Martine BERTRAND, a member of “Club d’Intelligence Relationnelle de l’IAE“. Frederic Cozic did a kick but interesting presentation. I tried to introduce us (allDenY) but i think that not everybody caught it. We just past the 24th hour working on the portal project at Madjo & Myriam appartment. I’m getting tired but i’ve some little things to do before going for a sleep. Because Myriam is going to Moroco for 2 months on Sunday, i’ve to make things right so that she could work. First of all, writting some explanations about the database, organize things about our strategy and our communication. She is going to be in charge of the design and the rest of the story board as the designer is no longer available. Ibrahima is going to learn css hacking and accessibility bases with Myriam. Our Ruby expert (Madjo) is about to finish the Spring MVC tutorial. Yeah ! I’m really impressed by the fact this guy is now ready to work on the framework. And I’m more and more confident for the apha release date. When ? aha ! you can just send me an email(“<Jean-Patrick Ehouman>jpehouman@gmail.com”) and i’ll tell you.

Last friday we had 2 goals. And we can say “mission accomplished”. So we have to congratulate Mymi and Madjo and Jean-Patrick which did great by consolidating the database logical model.
We also tested the GWT framework which has been suggested by Florian. This kind of thing simplify the developer’s life. Excelent choice Florian. But as we want to be entirely non-owned and javascript-non-dependent (inventing software vocabulary lol), we (Omar, Hicham, Jean-Patrick, Madjo, Myriam) suggest to Florian to use GWT for some section of the application but not for an entire page. In this case we can easily propose an alternative to ie4 users(is it possible ?) for example.

We have definitely lost Jin, our web-designer (sad isn’t it). Jin is very busy at the moment in his web agency (www.jevida.com). But he’ll be back as soon as possible.

WELCOME HICHAM. Yeah! Hicham ELARQAM has just joined the project. He his a Software Engineer, but he has been a High-school Mathematics teacher. Yes sir !

I finally found the collaborative tool we needed : ZOHO (www.zoho.com) is simply perfect for our needs.
